iWayAfrica Services offers broadband internet services via satellite throughout the African countries with a presence in over 16 countries within Africa.
It has won the VSAT operator Awarded by SATCOMM in the last 4 years.
As a Network engineer, below are my duties and responsibilities:
•Provision of Integration solutions to Customers using Hughes HN7740 and HX Systems.
•Customer Network problem support-on call and on site.
•Hughes Network Systems Hub Design and Upgrades.
•Day to day supervision of Network Health technicians
•Liaison between MWEB Africa and Hughes Network Systems (HNS), NewSkies NOC, Intelsat, SkyLogic and SkyVision  on Network issues and health.
•Ensuring an accurate track of sites commissioned on offer for issuance of rebates to the MWEB Africa partners to boost sales.

•Cordination and Planning of preventive and curative maintenance of earth stations.
•Performing Site surveys, installation, commissioning and maintenance of VSAT equipment.
•Installation and Configuration of WAN at new premises.
•Installation, Configuration and maintenance of satellite modems,3-comm switches, CISCO 1700,2800 routers and switches and monitoring devices.
•Control, monitor and reduce bandwidth consumption on the corporate LAN/WAN link to improve user productivity and satisfaction.
•Maintain and update network diagrams and circuit occurences.
•Weekly generation of the status report of the management systems and sharing it with team members.

The responsibilities mentioned help ensure that the customer is satisfied with there data and internet needs. With the knowledge gained from the training,new ways of offering solutions of better quality will be implemented to improve the customers experience.
